About Us
SWEET GUM GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church is to MAGNIFY the Lord, EMBRACE one another in Christian love and SHARE the gospel within the local and global communities.
OUR MOTTO
"The Church where God gets the Glory and the people are His Story"
OUR HISTORY
In the grove of many Sweet Gum trees located in Caswell County, North Carolina on November 30, 1875, a group of dedicated Christians assembled to begin plans for a church. The church building was completed in 1883. The church was named after its location, Sweet Gum Level and later changed to Sweet Gum Grove. The original church was destroyed by fire in 1891. An old, no longer used church was to continue the Sweet Gum Grove Church's legacy. During the years, our forefathers and mothers have made many changes and renovations and with God's blessings, we have our great church today.

What Is World Vision?
World Vision is a global Christian humanitarian organization committed to serving children, families, and communities living in poverty. Their mission is rooted in faith, compassion, and long-term transformation. They work in nearly 100 countries, providing access to clean water, education, healthcare, food security, and spiritual encouragement.
What Is the Chosen Program?
The Chosen program is a special ministry where—for the first time ever—children get to choose their sponsor.
Instead of adults choosing a child, the child selects the sponsor who will walk alongside them, pray for them, and support their journey toward a better future.
This program emphasizes:
Dignity and empowerment for the children
Personal connection between sponsor and child
Christ-centered love and service
Sponsorship Opportunity
World Vision is asking for volunteers who feel led to sponsor a child monthly.
Your monthly sponsorship provides:
Clean water
Nutritious food
Medical care
Educational support
Spiritual development
Community transformation
A sponsorship doesn’t just change the child’s life—it uplifts their family and entire community.
Your sponsorship can change a life! Please watch the video below. You may click the second link if you wish to sponsor a child.
